Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 15, 2026
BTC Wallet Monitor does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All information stays on your device.
Overview
BTC Wallet Monitor is a Bitcoin wallet monitoring application. It allows users to track public Bitcoin addresses, view balances, and receive transaction notifications. The app is designed with privacy as a core principle.
Data We Do Not Collect
- No personal information (name, email, phone number)
- No account or login credentials
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No advertising identifiers
- No location data
- No crash reports sent to external servers
Data Stored Locally
The following data is stored exclusively on your device using local storage (SharedPreferences):
- Bitcoin public addresses — the wallet addresses you choose to monitor
- Wallet labels and colors — custom names and color preferences you assign
- App settings — your preferred API provider, refresh interval, currency, and display options
This data is never transmitted to any server because we do not operate any servers. It remains on your device and can be deleted at any time by clearing the app data or uninstalling the app.
Third-Party API Services
To retrieve blockchain data and Bitcoin price information, the app makes direct API requests from your device to the following public services:
- Blockstream (blockstream.info) — wallet balances and transactions
- Mempool.space (mempool.space) — wallet balances and transactions (fallback)
- CoinGecko (coingecko.com) — current Bitcoin price
These requests are made directly from your device. We do not proxy, intercept, or log these requests. When Tor routing is enabled (via Orbot), these requests are routed through the Tor network to protect your IP address. Please refer to each provider's own privacy policy:
Tor Routing
The app supports routing all API requests through the Tor network via SOCKS5 proxy. This feature requires Orbot (a free app available on Google Play) to be installed and running on your device. When enabled, your IP address is not exposed to any blockchain API provider.
Camera Permission
The app requests camera access solely for scanning QR codes containing Bitcoin addresses. No images or video are stored, transmitted, or processed beyond the QR code decoding that happens locally on your device.
Notifications
The app may request permission to send local notifications to alert you of new transactions on your monitored wallets. These notifications are generated entirely on your device by the background service. No push notification services or external servers are involved.
No Private Keys
BTC Wallet Monitor only works with public Bitcoin addresses. The app never requests, stores, or has access to private keys or seed phrases. It is a read-only monitoring tool.
Data Export
The app provides an export feature that saves your wallet list (addresses and labels) as a JSON file on your device. This file is created locally and is only shared if you explicitly choose to do so.
Children's Privacy
This app is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
